Meet Dr. Benson

Dr. Steven BensonDr. Benson was born in Illinois and lived in Iowa and Florida before arriving in Pasadena Texas where he graduated from South Houston High School. He attended Texas Tech with plans to study engineering. After one year at Tech he returned to Houston, where summer and part time jobs were available that could pay for his education. During his second year at U of H his interests were redirected to dentistry and he subsequently earned a BS in biology. He then enrolled at the University of Texas Dental School from which he graduated in 1969 with a DDS degree.

While attending dental school, Dr. Benson spent many hours working at Methodist Hospital where he gained a great deal of experience in working with patients while performing medical laboratory procedures. He also worked as a dental laboratory technician for some excellent Houston dentists who taught him the value of high quality clinical dentistry.

Throughout his career, Dr. Benson has spent hundreds of hours learning about "state of the art" dentistry. For several years he has focused on restoring worn out, poorly functioning teeth using the beauty of unworn natural teeth for guidance. Currently he is concentrating his studies on the management of TMJ pain and dysfunction.
